It's about that time again: Facebook has announced the dates for its annual Facebook Connect (formerly known as Oculus Connect until last year).

Once again, the event will be held virtually, allowing all registrants to attend from the comfort of their home or office.

Don't Miss: Facebook and Ray-Ban Stories Smartglasses Unboxing

And while the name has changed, the DNA of the event hasn't, Facebook Connect is all about augmented reality and virtual reality.

From the latest developments in Oculus VR, which is continuing to roll out its Horizon social media platform, to the increasing updates on the Facebook AR front, the event will cater to developers, creators, and mainstream immersive computing users alike.

As usual, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg will hold the keynote address, probably while wearing a pair of his new Ray-Ban Stories smartglasses. Also following the event's tradition, Oculus Consulting CTO John Carmack will also deliver another one of his long but deeply interesting can't-miss talks on the state of the VR and AR space (check out last year's speech, above, to understand why you shouldn't miss the next one).

Along with speeches from some of the company's AR/VR leadership, the event will also offer break-out sessions designed to support developers working in the immersive space.

The online event kicks off on October 28, and you can register now here. And when the conference goes live at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, you can watch the stream on the Facebook Reality Labs page.
